The Numbers 10 and 9

The love of my life officially has a little less than 10 months left on his mission. I just say he has 9 ;) But I mean, that's nothing! I can count down on my fingers!! The second year has hands down gone by more quickly than the first, but at the same time, I'm feeling myself missing Tyler more than I ever have. So it's easy but hard at the same time. It's kind of a random mix of emotions at the moment. He is so wonderful and sweet to me though. I couldn't ever ask for a better best friend and sweetheart. I love him so much. 9 more months is nothing :) It's getting me really excited! I can't wait to have that boy back home again.

Park City

I had so much fun with Jess over memorial day weekend hanging out in Park City! It was a much needed getaway. Shopping, hiking, hot-tub chilling and just classic girl-time. We live in such a beautiful place and I love how you can go either south or north in Utah and you can have yourself a  mini-vacation.

Missing This Boy Lately

So I'm almost up to 9 months down of Tyler being gone! Time is going by really fast but I've been missing this sweet boy more and more lately! I feel like his year mark is coming up super soon which makes me so happy! On the bright side since we dated two years before he left, I have hours of footage of him and the two of us together! So I decided to make a little video. I'm so proud of him! I've never seen someone love their mission more than he does! He is doing sooo well out there! Every letter and email I get from him is amazing and so full of love! I'm seriously the luckiest girl to have him in my life and I love him dearly! And I get to see him on Sunday for Mother's day! Ah! I think I could explode of happiness!

Inspiration Journal

I am completely journal and notebook obsessed. The moment I see a cute or unique notebook or journal I have to buy it. I just love writing my thoughts, quotes, and filling the pages with the wanderings of my mind. My favorite journal is my inspiration journal.
I started this Journal when I did the "Make Things Happen" process created by Lara Casey which I am also, completely obsessed with. It truly inspired me to get fired up and to get my dreams and ideas rolling. Even a couple years after staring the journal I still follow the steps to this process when I'm feeling low or need to re-focus, or get inspired.
Some of the steps include writing down every single one of your fears because most of the time, fear itself ends up being one of the main components that holds you back from making things happen and going after something you truly do want.
Some other steps are writing down the excuses you make, the people you spend most of your time with and how they make you feel, what you are grateful for, what are the main distractions in your life, and what are your big ideas, what you want to make happen.
It's such a good way to get perspective and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone!

So what has started off as just a notebook to use for that process has become a notebook filled with so much more. My dreams, passions, shoot ideas, journal entries, branding and packaging sketches and designs, notes from seminars and quotes that motivate and inspire.

I loooove writing in journals and if I were to give some advice I would say.

1. Get a journal.
2. Start writing.
3. Gather quotes and sayings that you love
and smash them all together on a page in
different designs and handwriting
4. Collect snippets of pictures from
magazines or ones you have taken
and make collages that inspire you!
5. Write down certain words that inspire you.
it may sound silly but inspiration is
everywhere and words are powerful.

Write about anything! Write about your ideas, dreams, and where you really want to be in life. Honestly, get as specific as possible! Because for some reason, the second you get it on paper, everything becomes more clear.
So write on babes!

To the Most Amazing Girl in the World

I just want to take a minute and talk about one of the most incredible people I know. My sister Sarah, and today just happens to be her 18th birthday!
I've never known someone more beautiful, kind-hearted, sweet and so stinking hilarious.
I'm not kidding when I say she got the "good-looks" genes in our family.
She has always supported me through thick and thin and I've never had someone care about me the way she does.
Growing up we were literally inseparable and to this day I have no clue what I would ever do without her in my life. I'm seriously so blessed that I got her as a sister.
I feel like it was just yesterday we were running around as little kids in Boston without a care in the world. Now she's graduating from high school, moving out to college and I've never been more proud of her! And boys..  this babe is single so get at her!!!
She means the world to me and I love her with every little bit of my heart!!
Happy birthday Sar! Hope it's amazing because you deserve it!
I LOVE YOU!! :)

Something's Fishy...

So the other night I'm basically passed out in bed when I hear a
"bang bang bang!!!"
on the front door of our apartment.
It literally scares me half to death because it was past midnight and I was half asleep..
So I ignored it and fell asleep.
The next morning my roommate Jess and I are eating breakfast when I remember the slamming on our door!
I go and open the door just to check and lo and behold there is the sickest, most disgusting, rotting and nasty-smelling FISH HEAD I have ever seen.

So naturally I scream and slam the door. And then Jessica goes to look at it and then screams and slams the door and then I start gagging!
(I have the worst gag reflex in the world! If I smell something even slightly vile.. I'll gag.)
I was sooo mad. SO I decided something HAD to be done!

We knew exactly who had pranked us soooo....
We left the fish outside on our porch allllll day to make it extra smelly for our plan!
After work I ran to the pet store and bought 20 gross little goldfish.
We filled 20 plastic cups full of water and put a fish in every single one!
Later that night we dropped it all off (rotting fish head included) with a sign that said
"GO FISH"
So ha ha ha ha ha HA HA HA!!!! :)
No one pranks us and gets away with it!! ;)

Photography Interview

Being a part of RAW was a really cool experience. My favorite part was meeting so many new people who were so passionate about what they were doing! I got to be interviewed at the show and I just got to see it today! I pretty much am HORRIBLE in front of the camera (mostly because I was so stinking nervous and words were just coming up like word vomit) but it was still way fun to be interviewed and all around it was a really neat experience!

Vegas Pt. 2: Video

Savannah and I had an amazing time and we ended up getting a ton of video from the trip! So if you see me posting a couple more videos in the future, it's because we still have a ton of amazing footage! Amazing trip, amazing friend, amazing photography classes, just an all around amazing experience.

Make sure you pause the music player at the bottom of the page and make it wide-screen!
Enjoy! :)

Vegas Pt. 1

For the past six days I've had the opportunity to attend the WPPI (Wedding and portrait photographer) conference in Vegas with my friend Savannah. It was probably one of the most fun, amazing, and inspiring weeks of my life. I learned so much from all the classes and now that I'm home, I can't wait to truly put all the things I learned into action with my photography business! Savannah and I probably did everything you can think of to do in Vegas (besides the clubbing and drinking.) We rode the roller-coaster at New York New York, went to an amazing show, walked around sight-seeing A LOT, went shopping, ate some sushi, met some interesting people, took a million pictures, learned a lot, and made some awesome videos which will be shown in a future post ;) so stay tuned! Seriously... best. week. ever.
